Synthetics, Terraform, and Smarter Monitors

December 2025

Synthetics now have a new creation wizard, while monitors gained more control with custom repeat intervals. We also added Terraform support for metrics aggregation and improved performance and usability across dashboards, explore, and monitors.

New Features

  • Synthetics | Added authentication support and a new wizard for creating checks
  • Integrations | Users can now add scraped metrics configurations from the Targets Discovery page
  • Monitors | Added support for custom repeat_interval per monitor
  • Terraform | Added a resource for configuring metrics aggregation

Improvements

  • Synthetics | Aligned CRUD permissions with overall permissions, added "status: pending" for unmatched traces
  • Dashboards | Improved chart legend usability, added gcQL engine to execute join-based formulas
  • Monitors | Added sorting to the monitors table, improved gcQL engine for monitor evaluations
  • Explore | Added a loading indicator to the gcQL builder measurement field menu

  • Explore | Fixed issues with filters field, Pie chart resizing, formula editing, and time picker in dashboards
  • Synthetics | Fixed UX issues, worker body attribute handling, and traces URL state when using modal
  • Dashboards | Fixed column actions in widget modal, rendering of null buckets in stacked bar charts
